News for March 2013

There have been two books recently published, describing and supporting the use of the Process Enneagram©, The Map That Never Fails’.

The first book, Leadership in Chaordic Organizations, is written by Beverly G. McCarter and Brian E. White. Richard wrote the forward and is quoted extensively throughout the book. The book is complex adaptive systems and how to apply these ideas to real organizations. The Process Enneagram© is described and the missing link between complexity theory and application (p. 152). More and more, the Process Enneagram© is seen as a powerful, useful tool to help leaders transform their organizations. It is the pattern of life and is seen as ‘The Map That Never Fails’.

The other book, Managing and Engineering in Complex Situations, is written by Samuel F. Kovacic and Andres Sousa-Poza. Richard wrote Chapter 14, “Effectively Living Near the Edge; An Extraordinary Management Tool for Mastering Wicked Problems.”

Richard Knowles was part of the Science and Complexity Forum at Eckerd College’s ASPEC Program, particularly leading the sessions around Practical Leadership Application of Complexity in the Workplace.

Richard Knowles was a speaker at the ASSE (American Society for Safety Engineers) Tampa Spring Regional Conference. His well-attended talk was “Partnering for Safety Excellence.”

Women Helping Women” – This was the theme of a session led by Claire Knowles at ASPEC (Association of Senior Professionals at Eckerd College, St. Petersburg, FL) in March. This session underscored how our struggles are lessened and our triumphs are made sweeter by our “relationships with strong women.” Keep on being a woman who keeps on helping other women was the resounding call to action.

Participating in “Be The Change Event” with Suzanne Evans in Orlando, Florida, and also with Stapleton/Stark Mastermind group about the world of marketing and the impact on growing business.

Learning with our Mastermind Group in Myrtle Beach, SC. Stapleton/Stark, LLC is leading this with focused attention on further developing our marketing strength. Claire’s doing a full day workshop in Western New York working with women helping their organization to “move to the next level.”
